Malta Business Weekly report that a leading German newspaper has published a full page article in their travel section about Malta, with the top third showing a photograph of Grand Harbour in Valletta – a leading Cruise ship destination which welcomes nearly a million cruise passengers a year.
As Business Weekly point out, the timing was good, as the schools in Germany were just about to finish for the summer holidays and for those who hadn’t yet booked their summer holidays, Malta will now be one of their considerations.
Meanwhile, the Malta Independent reports that for hundreds of thousands of holidaymakers who visit the island in the second half of July and August from across Europe and beyond there is good news – the European Commission has found that not only are Malta’s beaches up to standard, but 95% of them are now classified as ‘excellent’.
Finally, a movie can bring good publicity and boost tourism numbers – and Brad Pitt has just finished shooting extensive scenes in Malta for upcoming Hollywood blockbuster ‘World War Z’ – from Paramount Pictures, due for release in 2012.
Brad’s partner Angelina Jolie and their children joined him on the island for the last few weeks – for photographs of Brad Pitt on the island and more about the film click through to www.comingsoon.net
